Kyros
The unseen Overlord who reshaped the world through conquest and law.
Kyros is not a companion in Pillars of Eternity; the only character named Kyros is the Overlord in Tyranny, a different game by Obsidian Entertainment. The description of Kyros as a human male warrior companion in the Exile's Party is entirely invented, and the setting of Pillars of Eternity is the Eastern Reach, not the Exiled Lands.

Lore & Background
Kyros is the enigmatic and all-powerful Overlord who conquered the Tiers in the game Tyranny. Their true nature, gender, and even species remain deliberately ambiguous, as Kyros never appears directly in the game. Instead, their will is enforced through the Fatebinder and the armies of the Scarlet Chorus and Disfavored. Kyros is not a companion, nor do they have a personal quest in Pillars of Eternity. The story of a failed military expedition and personal atonement is entirely fabricated.
In Their Own Story
The firelight flickered against Kyros's polished breastplate, casting long shadows across the campsite. He sat apart from the others, methodically cleaning his blade with an oil-stained rag. The silence was heavy, not out of tension, but habit; he had learned to find peace in quiet moments before the storm broke again. Tonight, there was no battle, only the memory of those who never returned to sleep.
Reader's Guide
Kyros serves as a stalwart warrior companion, providing essential melee damage and durability to the Exile's party. His biography centers on his time as a soldier in a failed expedition, driving his personal questline focused on uncovering the truth behind his unit's destruction. In narrative interactions, Kyros offers dialogue rooted in military discipline and honor. He often questions decisions based on risk assessment and duty, providing a grounded counterpoint to more mystical companions. His unique choices allow players to explore themes of survivor's guilt and redemption. Mechanically, he excels as a frontline fighter with high strength and constitution stats. Players can utilize his combat skills to control enemy positioning or deal heavy damage through cleave attacks. Equipping him with two-handed weapons maximizes his potential in prolonged battles.
